It all started when...

One of my kids' teachers asked me if I would help her grow some plants in her classroom and teach the kids how to cook with them. Later that day I received an email about funding for edible gardens for schools and by the end of the day we had the thumbs up from the school administration. Eight weeks later we submitted an application for funding, 4 months after that we got word that we had been approved and then just 90 days after that, 600 children worked together to build an edible garden in their otherwise concrete school yard.

Here's our journey as well as some tips and tricks we have learned along the way to help support anyone else wanting to build a simple portable edible garden.
